About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details janitorial services for the Ottawa National Forest Visitor Center and Bunkhouse located in Watersmeet, Michigan. The contract requires the contractor to provide all labor, supervision, and cleaning supplies for two facilities: the Visitor Center, which operates year-round with seasonal hours, and the Bunkhouse, which houses seasonal employees. Cleaning tasks for the Visitor Center include routine daily cleaning of bathrooms and building spaces, with additional semi-annual and annual deep cleaning requirements such as window washing, carpet shampooing, and furniture wiping.

The SOW specifies cleaning frequency, with the Visitor Center to be cleaned either once or twice weekly depending on the schedule, and the Bunkhouse to be cleaned twice annually in May and October. Most cleaning supplies will be contractor-furnished, though the Forest Service will provide some consumables like paper towels and toilet paper for the Visitor Center. Additional contractor requirements include providing personnel names to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) before contract start, conducting background checks for employees, and covering all travel expenses. The contract includes detailed specifications for cleaning both facilities, including specific tasks for bathrooms, floors, windows, furniture, and other surfaces.
