About this file

This is a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) attachment for the City of Tampa Water Department's procurement solicitation for Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) and Sand Filter Media. The document outlines OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard requirements for SDSs, which became effective June 1, 2015. The SDS must follow a uniform 16-section format including product identification, hazard identification, composition and ingredients, first-aid measures, fire-fighting measures, accidental release procedures, handling and storage guidelines, exposure controls and personal protective equipment, physical and chemical properties, stability and reactivity information, toxicological data, ecological information, disposal considerations, transport information, regulatory information, and preparation/revision dates. Sections 12 through 15 are regulated by other agencies and are not enforced by OSHA. Bidders responding to the City of Tampa's GAC and Sand Filter Media solicitation (Project 26-P-00105) must provide SDSs that comply with these OSHA standards.
