About this file

This document outlines no-application buffer areas and widths for herbicides used under a federal contract opportunity for roadside herbicide spot spraying. The table specifies buffer widths in feet for various herbicide applications near streams, wetlands, and ditches, with wider buffers required for perennial waters and those containing flowing or standing water. Applications will observe the most conservative buffer width for any herbicide in a combination. The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from the Bureau of Land Management Oregon-Washington seeking offers for roadside herbicide spot spraying services.

ATTACHMENT 9_COOS BAY AND ROSEBURG NO APPLICATION BUFFER AREAS

Herbicide buffer distances – The following no-application buffers— which are measured in feet and are based on herbicide formula, stream type, and application method—will be observed during herbicide applications (Table 1). Herbicide applications based on a combination of approved herbicides will use the most conservative buffer for any herbicide included. Buffer widths are measured as map distance perpendicular to the bankfull for streams, the upland boundary for wetlands, or the upper bank for roadside ditches.

Table 1. No-application buffer widths1 in feet for herbicide application, by stream types and application methods.
