About this file
This document provides updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding mask usage and other COVID-19 safety protocols for vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals. The guidance specifies that fully vaccinated people are no longer required to wear masks or physically distance in most settings, though masks may still be required by certain laws or regulations. It also indicates that fully vaccinated individuals can resume domestic travel and refrain from testing or quarantining after travel. However, unvaccinated or partially vaccinated individuals should continue taking precautions like mask wearing and testing as required.
The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from the Department of the Interior National Park Service Midwest Region seeking a small local business enterprise to provide access, interpretation, and restoration services for the Midwest Region's SMI Lighthouse Complex. The solicitation includes the number 140P6021R0004 and the name "SLBE - Provide Access-Interp-Restore SMI Lighthous."

UPDATED 13 May 2021: COVID-19 Mask Policy
• Update that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance
• Update that fully vaccinated people can refrain from testing following a known exposure unless they are residents or employees of a correctional or detention facility or a homeless shelter
The following recommendations apply to non-healthcare settings.
Fully vaccinated people can:
• Resume activities without wearing masks or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance
• Resume domestic travel and refrain from testing before or after travel or self-quarantine after travel
• Refrain from testing before leaving the United States for international travel (unless required by the destination) and refrain from self-quarantine after arriving back in the United States
• Refrain from testing following a known exposure, if asymptomatic, with some exceptions for specific settings
• Refrain from quarantine following a known exposure if asymptomatic
• Refrain from routine screening testing if feasible
For now, fully vaccinated people should continue to:
• Get tested if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms
• Follow CDC and health department travel requirements and recommendations
