About this file
The Dover AFB OPSEC Awareness Guide for Contractors is a security document outlining critical information protection guidelines for contractors working at Dover Air Force Base. The guide details specific operational security (OPSEC) countermeasures across six key areas: Security Measures, Personal Identifiable Information, Mission Capabilities, Force Readiness, Force Structure, and Physical Infrastructure. Contractors are instructed to implement strict protocols such as using email encryption, adhering to 100% shred policies, limiting information access to authorized personnel with a "need to know" basis, and avoiding public disclosure of sensitive information related to personnel, equipment, infrastructure, and mission details.
The document emphasizes comprehensive information security practices, including protecting personal identifiable information (encrypting emails, using Privacy Act coversheets), restricting access to sensitive mission-related data, securing communication channels, and preventing unauthorized sharing of information about force structure, exercises, plans, and physical infrastructure. Specific directives include not posting contract-related information on social media, transmitting information only through approved channels, and immediately reporting any suspicious behavior to maintain operational security at Dover Air Force Base.
