About this file
This document is an informational attachment for a concrete repair project at the Brackish Groundwater National Desalination Research Facility (BGNDRF). The primary contract objectives include reducing water drainage from the roof and fire suppression system, creating a new concrete slab capable of supporting a forklift with a full load, and raising a manhole and utility box above grade.
The specific work involves three main tasks: (1) installing a new 4 ft by 16 ft concrete section between an existing slab and acid room wall, (2) creating new concrete sections in front of the workshop (an 8 ft x 16 ft rectangle plus a 4 ft x 4 ft square) and between the workshop and electrical room door, and (3) raising the manhole cover and utility box above ground level. The project requires removing existing rock, preparing the base, pouring concrete, and installing expansion joints according to the Statement of Work (SOW). The attached images provide visual documentation of the current site conditions and proposed work areas.
