About this file

This PowerPoint presentation provides guidance on conducting a distressed area analysis to qualify for increased federal grant funding under the Department of Defense's APEX Accelerator Option Period opportunity. It outlines how to determine if a Procurement Technical Assistance Center operates in a distressed area defined as having either a per capita income of 80% or less than the state average, or an unemployment rate 1% greater than the national average, using data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis and Bureau of Labor Statistics. It instructs applicants to include documentation of any distressed service areas when applying for the APEX Accelerator Option Period, which is assigned under the Procurement Technical Assistance for Business Firms federal grant program and administered by the Department of Defense. Eligible existing award recipients can receive this additional period of performance and funding.
