About this file

This is a Brand Name Requirements Justification memorandum from the 80th Flying Training Wing at Sheppard Air Force Base, dated June 2, 2026, submitted to justify a sole-source procurement decision for the BeaverFit Performance Locker.

The Air Force seeks to procure a BeaverFit Performance Locker, a fabricated shipping container with external anchored rigs and internal workout equipment for unit fitness operations at military installations. The justification documents that three competitive quotes were obtained from BeaverFit Performance, StrongBox Fitness, and RallyFitness for a 10-foot container gym, with each quote including the container, fitness equipment, shipping, and installation services. Market research indicates that only three companies manufacture both containers and fitness equipment as integrated products, and BeaverFit emerged as the superior choice based on customization capabilities, product durability, professional customer service, and warranty terms. BeaverFit offers a limited lifetime warranty on structural steel materials and workmanship plus a five-year paint corrosion warranty, compared to StrongBox's one-year manufacturer warranty and RallyFitness's 90-day warranty. The memorandum notes that Sheppard AFB currently operates four BeaverFit units, and other major installations including Fort Bragg/Pope AFB, Fort Sill, and Lackland AFB have selected BeaverFit products. The justification was approved by the 82d Contracting Officer and 82d Contracting Section Chief, with the conclusion that thorough market research supports BeaverFit as the best supplier for the Squadron's specific requirements.

DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE AIR

80TH FLYING TRAINING WING

SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE TEXAS

2 June 2026

MEMORANDUM FOR 82 CONS/PKA

FROM: 80 FTW/COS

SUBJECT: Brand Name Requirements Justification

1. Description of the Supplies/Services: This request is for the BeaverFit Performance Locker, which is a fabricated shipping container with anchored rigs on the outside, and contains a variety of workout equipment on the inside. These performance lockers are common throughout military bases as they allow units the ability to perform unit fitness in close proximity to their place of work.

2. Efforts to Obtain Competition: Three quotes were obtained, from BeaverFit Performance, StrongBox Fitness, and RallyFitness. No other companies exist on the market that sell both the container and fitness equipment together. Other fitness companies such as Rogue®, Sornex®, RepFitness®, and Hammer Strength® are elite gym equipment companies that sell fitness equipment, but they do not sell shipping containers. Likewise, companies such as Toque® and Fury Co® custom build and install container gyms, but these are meant for a single-dwelling home setting, and not for a large group. Furthermore, purchasing a custom container would also be more expensive since the equipment would need to be bought separately from a different vendor.

3. Market Research: Sheppard AFB currently houses 4 BeaverFit boxes that sit across base, and contacts were made to Fort Bragg/Pope AFB ( Fayetteville NC), Fort Sill (Lawton OK), and Lackland AFB (San Antonio, TX) all which have gone with BeaverFit. BeaverFit is a company known for their ability to customize Performance Lockers as needed, their high product durability, and their professional customer service. Furthermore, they provide a more robust service warranty than the other companies.

a. BeaverFit, RallyFit, and StrongBox were all asked to provide quotes for a 10ft container gym. All three companies provided quotes that included the following: the container, fitness equipment, shipping, and installation.

4. Other Factors: Of the three companies, Beaverfit offered the requested products and the most extensive warranty. Beaverfit offers a limited lifetime warranty on all structural steel material, workmanship (structural welds), and that all products are free from manufacturing defects when sued as intended. They also offer a five-year warranty for paint corrosion/paint failure for performance lockers. Products manufactured by Western Shelters (Strongbox) have a one-year manufacturer’s warranty and RallyFitness offers a 90-day manufacturer’s warranty.

Overall, BeaverFit provides the best product to meet Squadron’s needs.

5. A Statement Of The Actions, If Any, The Agency May Take To Remove Or Overcome Any Barriers To Competition Before Making Subsequent Acquisitions For The Supplies Or Services Required. Thorough research was conducted to find the best supplier on the market that could customize a performance locker needed to meet the Squadron’s demands.
