b. Is the underground water penetration issue included in the scope of the seed project? Yes.
2. Reference Specifications 01 00 00 1.6.I. Phasing. Phase I and Phase II are blank
– will these be amended and reissued? Phasing is shown in General Note #3 on sheet A101.

Will this 01 91 00 be provided? Is now added.
4. Reference A-401, both metal stud and wood studs are shown as Partition Types 1&2 respectively. Per A-101 all new partitions are to be Type-2 wood studs.
However, we have been provided specification 09 22 16. Where is the new metal framing Wall Type 1 required? All walls are wood studs. See keynote 14 on A101 for Wall Type 1 locations.

1. Sheet A-401, Key Note 3 – please provide detail and specification for this requirement. VA interior designer to provide plastic laminate specifications.
2. Please provide an enlarged detail of the new exterior gable wall indicated by Key Note 6 on Sh. A-201 providing wall thickness, vapor barrier, insulation, and sheathing requirements. Match existing construction.
3. Please confirm that all new interior framed walls are to be Partition Type 2 and extend to the roof deck. Confirmed.
4. Please confirm STC ratings do not apply to the new wood doors. Confirmed.

Please confirm this is the case and clarify to what extent we are required to patch and repair. Gypsum board ceiling above the acoustical ceiling is for the fire protection of roof structure. Patch and repair all new and existing openings to maintain fire protection.
9. Related to question 16 – during the site visit we were able to determine ceilings in area 71C are gypsum board and area 71D is acoustic tile. Please provide information.

1. Reference Seed Project Drawings - Structural drawing S-201 is not showing framing as called for on architectural drawings A-120 and A-201 (raising roof and moving ridge line over to match existing ridge). Please clarify. Details for this will be provided during construction based on field conditions, existing drawings for this roof are not available. The intension is to provide framing attached to existing roof joist to move the ridge line over.
2. Reference Seed Project Drawings – Architectural drawing A-120 shows a new flat roof Keynote 5. What is this roofing material? We do not have specifications for flat roof. Match existing flat roofing material.
3. Reference Seed Project Drawings – A-501 all door types are shown as Type 1 – there are no Type 2 shown. Please confirm all new Wood Doors are Type 1 Flush. Confirmed, all doors are Type 1.
4. Reference Seed Project Drawings – Sheet A-101 Note 14 refers to D2/A-401.
There is no D2/A-401. Please clarify. See D1/A401 Partition Type 1.
5. Reference Seed Project Drawings – Sheet A-401 D1 Partition Types are labeled STC-rated. There are no STC ratings shown on A-501 for door openings. Are the doors and frames to be STC-rated to match the partitions shown? STC ratings do not apply to the new wood doors.
6. Reference Seed Project Drawings – Sheet A-120, the flat roof design shown is very prone to continued roof leaks. What is the design of how the flat roof terminates towards the new gabled end? We understand you are attempting to avoid an internal gutter, but the current design appears prone to leaks. Please clarify the design intent of how the flat roof terminates. Transition of sloped roof and flat roof is like existing. Flat roof to overlap under the sloped roofing at all sides. Provide maximum slope allowed for flat roof per site condition. Provide all flashing as required. Provide shop drawings for approval prior to construction.
Water to drain off over the sloped roof at front.

9. Reference Seed Project Drawings -There is an existing wet pipe fire suppression system. Please confirm this is not a part of the scope of the work – where the new acoustical ceiling tile is installed below the existing gypsum ceiling with sprinkler heads installed. Is the fire suppression system in the scope of work?
The new ceiling shall have a new sprinkler system, so therefore, upgrading the fire suppression system for this area renovated is required.

The drawings show that 71A primarily shows the existing acoustical ceiling to remain. But 71 B, C, and D require new ACT.
Gypsum board ceiling above (upper) the acoustical ceiling is for the fire protection of roof structure. This UPPER gypsum board ceiling is not visible. The visible ceilings are ACT.
12. Reference Seed Project Drawings – Sheet A-111. Ceiling Height is noted 8’6”.
Please clarify this is the new ceiling height, not the existing. New and existing ceiling height should be the same unless noted otherwise. Verify in field.

10. There is a conflict between Scope of Work paragraph on M0.1 requiring “THE
RELIEF AIR FROM THE BUILDING WILL BE DISCHARGED AT 10 FEET
ABOVE THE ROOF AND 25 FEET AWAY FROM OUTSIDE AIR INTAKES” and the Relief Air Hood Scheduled on M0.2 and plan detail 9/M4.1 which does not extend 10’ above the roof. We understand the scheduled relief air hood is correct and the Scope of Work paragraph on M0.1 is not applicable to this project. If this is not a correct understanding, please clarify otherwise by amendment. There is a typo, and it should say “AT 10 FEET ABOVE GRADE.”
Not above the roof.
