Summary of Attachment 3 - Drawings 1174767.pdf

This document is a comprehensive set of technical drawings for the Building 3 and 4 PPW (Potable and Process Water) Connections project at the USDA National Centers for Animal Health facility in Ames, Iowa. The drawings, prepared by designer Brandon Keith and dated June 29, 2026, detail the piping connections, valve installations, and related modifications required to connect Buildings 3 and 4 waste systems to the existing treatment infrastructure.

The scope of work encompasses: (1) connecting existing CPVC piping from Building 3 into Building 125's piping and the dual-walled fiberglass piping system; (2) abandoning and capping existing 4-inch and 6-inch waste piping from Buildings 3 and 4; (3) installing new 6-inch and 4-inch fiberglass piping into collection tanks WWT-3-1, WWT-3-2, WWT-4-1, and WWT-4-2 with new ball valves to be coordinated with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR); (4) connecting CPVC vent piping from collection tanks into existing 6-inch fiberglass vent piping; (5) replacing compressed air lines from 40psi to 60psi for WWT-4-2 equipment; (6) installing blank flanges and gaskets on decontaminated lines; (7) creating accessible clean-outs for Buildings 5 and 174; and (8) excavating sections of dual-walled fiberglass piping as required. The drawings include site overviews, basement work layouts, waste system piping diagrams with component identifications, detailed connection specifications, photographic references of existing conditions, trench details, and elevation views to guide contractor execution.

Once building 4 has been connected into the dual walled fiberglass piping, the contractor shall cut off old wastewater piping from building 4 and cap it to prevent wastewater from buildings 5 and 174 flowing into abandoned section. Contractor shall add piping that will turn up and create a clean out for buildings 5 and 174. Clean out shall be accessible from the surface and have a removable cap rated for vehicle traffic.
