About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the maintenance and technical/engineering services of a Waters SYNAPT G2-Si_UGA572 Mass Spectrometer located at the USDA-ARS Wheat Health, Genetics and Quality Research Unit (WHGQRU) in Pullman, Washington. The instrument is essential to the unit's mission-critical ion mobility mass spectrometry research, which characterizes the rhizosphere metabolome of dryland and irrigated wheat and other crops in the Inland Pacific Northwest region to identify metabolites that promote crop tolerance to drought, heat stress, and soilborne pathogens.

The contractor must provide comprehensive preventive maintenance including an optimized maintenance schedule based on run time, application, system location, and manufacturer recommendations. Service requirements include scheduled maintenance labor and parts, repair labor and parts, travel charges, and complete maintenance documentation. Service Engineers must be factory-certified by Waters and perform all necessary work using only genuine Waters parts. The SOW also requires repair and replacement services for worn components with genuine Waters parts, availability of instrument and software upgrades exclusively from Waters, and comprehensive customer support consisting of online access to Waters Certified Field Service Engineers, remote technical support and diagnostics capabilities, and customer technical and applications support for the instrument, informatics, and chemistry.
