About this file

This document specifies minimum technical requirements for cattle and calf GPS collars intended for livestock tracking and management applications. The collars must support LoRa-WAN and/or cellular data connectivity with Bluetooth capability to enable real-time tracking of animal locations derived from global positioning system data. The devices must accommodate a wide range of animal sizes, from small calves to large cattle, with adjustable collar designs.

The collars shall feature rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries with solar panels for remote charging capability and require 12-month renewable subscription services. Key functional requirements include virtual fence capabilities, access to raw GPS-logged data, and operational performance across a temperature range of -4°F to +140°F. Audio warning signals must not exceed 90 decibels at a distance of 3-4 feet to minimize stress on animals.
