Project: V-tank Auger Manure Spreader
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Scope of Work: The USDA-ARS Environmentally Integrated Dairy Management Research Unit in Marshfield, WI has a requirement for a V-tank auger drive trailer type industrial manure spreader to apply solid manure to crop fields. In addition to providing the new manure spreader, the vendor must take trade-in of the current manure spreader as part of the contract package.
2.0 Background: The current manure spreader is needing replacement. The new manure spreader needs to have a similar V-tank capacity (720 bushels) with a 3 auger system to allow handling of multiple types of manure, and a vertical dual expeller discharge system. In addition to the purchase of the new manure lagoon pump, the vendor must take trade-in and provide trade-in value of the current manure spreader (Meyer 8720 spreader) that is on-site (pictures included below).
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:
The manure spreader must meet the following requirements:
1) V-tank trailer type spreader with 720 bushel capacity
2) 1000 RPM CV 1 3/8" PTO
2) 3 auger system with 2 lower auger and 1 upper auger to move manure to rear discharge
3) Augers with t-post hold downs and nylon bushings
4) Dual cylinder rear tailgate lift
5) Dual rear vertical expellers with shock load couplers
6) Belt-driven rear expeller system
7) Poly lined rear tailgate tracks
3) Front and rear splash shields
4) Automatic oiler system
8) Swivel clevis hitch
8) LED light package
9) 560/45x22.5 radial float tires included
8) Manufacturer full warranty included
9) Quote must include setup, delivery fee, surcharges, and all other costs.
10) Quote must include trade-in value for the current manure spreader (2014 Meyer 8720 manure spreader) with vendor picking these up at delivery or within 1 week after delivery of new manure spreader.
11) In order to be considered for award, offerors shall provide 1) quote on company letterhead detailing the item description, unit price and total price; and
2) descriptive literature, brochures, information on service and support.
4.0 Government Furnished: Trade-in equipment to be included in quote – 2014 Meyer 8720 manure spreader.
5.0 Deliverables / Schedule:
The manure spreader is to be delivered to the UW Marshfield Agricultural Research Station, 208356 Drake Ave, Stratford, WI 54484.
Trade-in equipment will be picked up at the time of delivery of the manure spreader.
Delivery must be made during normal business hours of 7am and 4pm Monday through Friday unless scheduled in advance with farm staff.
Contractors must notify location contact at least 1 week before anticipated delivery to coordinate work schedules.
6.0 Travel:
All delivery costs for the new manure spreader must be included in the package bid.
7.0 Contractor’s Key Personnel:
Key personnel for the contractor include the technical representative to determine the correct manure spreader for the package, and the staff in charge of delivery/setup. The contractor should have prior experience with either designing/manufacturing or sales of agricultural equipment.
