About this file

This document is a specifications file for a federal contract requirement for soil seedbank elutriators. Two elutriators are required to support weed seedbank research and herbicide-resistant weed management initiatives at Oregon State University locations. The equipment must process 48 soil samples simultaneously to achieve high-throughput extraction capabilities and must include at least 96 sample strainers with 50-micron mesh to prevent loss of small seeds. Additional mandatory components include a rinse device for seed and debris removal, an approximately 100-liter collection tank for water and sediment, and wheels for mobility and maintenance access.

Delivery locations are specified as the Columbia Basin Agricultural Research Center-OSU in Adams, Oregon, and the Crop Science Building Room 109 at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. The delivery schedule requires fulfillment within 60 days after receipt of order (ARO). Vendor quotes must include warranty coverage, delivery, and installation services as part of the overall pricing. No specific federal agency, contract vehicle, or response deadline information is provided in this specifications document.

SPECIFICATIONS

Soil Seedbank Elutriator

1.0 Specifications Description:

Two (2) elutriators for quickly extracting weed seed from numerous soil seedbank samples. To accurately estimate the amount of weed seed within the soil seedbank, hundreds of soil samples need to be collected and processed. An elutriator is an eƯicient method for seed extraction, and it allows for extractions that would normally be accomplished in months to be completed in a matter of weeks. This equipment allows researchers to conduct stakeholder-driven research involving weed seedbank management and herbicide-resistant weed management.
