Statement of Work

Objective

Yosemite National Park has a requirement for installing generator interlock kits and inlet receptacles on 15 required occupant housing units in the Mather and Wawona Districts of the park. This will allow the residents, who are required to reside in the park, the ability to have access to power for selected circuits in their homes in the event of a power outage.

Background

The required occupants in the Mather and the Wawona Districts of the park, must live and work in the park as a requirement of their employment. They do not have the ability to engage alternate housing outside of the park. Adding a generator interlock, 30-amp 2 pole breaker, and inlet receptacle would allow these residents to remain in their homes during power outages and continue to perform their duties, by utilizing a portable generator (5500 – 6500 watts) to safely bring power to selected circuits (lights outlets, refrigerator(s), and water heater) in their residences.

Scope

• The contractor shall be responsible to verify location information

• The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials to accomplish the work

• The contractor shall perform all work to meet the standards outlined within the NEC requirements and the Pacific, Gas, and Electric (PG&E) Greenbook for generators and standby equipment

• The contractor shall install all electrical wiring and equipment necessary to deliver power to the building during outages to each of the listed 15 housing units

• The contractor shall make any repairs to the interior or exterior surfaces affected during the installation, exterior surfaces will be weathertight and interior surfaces will be sealed from any infiltration of pests, etc.

• The inlet receptacles shall be installed on the exterior of the residences

• The contractor shall not disconnect power to the residence without 48 hours prior notice to the

NPS, who shall notify the occupant of the planned outage

• The contractor shall submit a project schedule at least five (5) business days prior to the on-site work. The schedule shall be in writing and clearly show the planned dates of any power outage, so that the NPS can provide 48 hours prior notification to the residents affected by the work

• The contractor shall coordinate any power outages with PG&E and the NPS

• The outage duration shall not be more than ten (10) hours

• The contractor shall remove associated debris and dispose of it in a responsible manner not within Yosemite National Park or its refuse containers

• The National Park Service will perform periodic inspections, provide a punch list as necessary, and perform a final acceptance inspection
