About this file

This document is a detailed Request for Proposals from the USDA Agricultural Research Service for animal feed supplements. The solicitation includes two separate supplement requirements: 1) Four 20% crude protein supplements to be fed to mature gestating beef cows on native range, with variations including propionate and rumen protected fat, and 2) Two 36% crude protein supplements to be fed to weanling heifers on native range.

The specifications outline precise nutritional requirements, including minimum protein levels, vitamins, minerals, and specific additives like Smartamine M/ML and calcium propionate. The supplements will be delivered to Fort Keogh Livestock and Range Research Laboratory in Miles City, MT, with specific quantities: 13 tons of supplements 1 and 4, 2 tons of supplements 2 and 3, 8 tons of supplement 5, and 7 tons of supplement 6. The supplements must be in range cake (3/4 to 7/8 inch diameter) or meal form, packaged in 50 lb. bags/papers. Technical questions should be directed to Richard Waterman, and contract questions to Tucker Davis.
