About this file
This Limited Sources Justification and Approval (J&A) document supports a Hitachi hardware maintenance renewal for the Air Force. The document justifies a sole-source procurement for Hitachi maintenance support across multiple networks, citing the critical nature of maintaining network integrity and system performance. The procurement is being executed through a GSA 2GIT BPA (General Services Administration 2nd Generation IT) delivery order, with a total estimated cost covered by FY25 3400 funds.
Market research conducted in April 2025 confirmed that Hitachi maintenance renewal is not available through standard Air Force Enterprise License Agreements or other procurement platforms. The justification emphasizes that using an alternative vendor would cause compatibility issues, performance constraints, and potential mission disruption. The contract will be awarded to an authorized Hitachi reseller, with the specific vendor redacted in the document. The procurement is intended to ensure continuous support for existing infrastructure, provide access to the latest software patches, and maintain manufacturer assistance for troubleshooting and hardware replacement.
