About this file

Written by GovTribe AI ·

This document outlines a federal contract opportunity for mechanical thinning services. The Department of Agriculture Forest Service R5-Pacific Southwest Region is soliciting bids to thin overstocked and brush choked plantations located on the Stanislaus National Forest, Mi-Wok Ranger District in Tuolumne County, California. Work will involve mechanically shredding, cutting, and chipping live and dead brush, new and old slash, and trees across mountainous terrain with slopes up to 50% grade. Services will reduce inter-tree competition and fire hazard in plantations comprised primarily of ponderosa pine along with other conifer, hardwood, and brush species. Bidders should carefully review the provided vicinity and unit area maps identifying the specific contract areas. Any questions must be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer in sufficient time to allow a reply before the solicitation closing date.
