10. PRODUCTS STANDARDS AND COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS

10.1. DoD IPV6 Requirement

All Products must meet the criteria in DoD IPv6 Standard Profiles for IPv6 Capable Products version 5.0 July 2010 (http://jitc.fhu.disa.mil/apl/ipv6/pdf/disr_ipv6_50.pdf). Some example IPV6 mandated products from the DoD IPV6 Standards Profile are listed below:

· Host/Workstations - a desktop or other end-user computer or workstations running a general-purpose operating system such as UNIX, Linux, Windows or a proprietary operations system that is capable of supporting multiple applications.

· Network Appliance or Simple Server - Simple end nodes such as cameras, sensors, automation controllers, networked phones or adapters such as Circuit-to-Packet (CTP) devices, typically with an embedded operating system and specialized software for limited applications. A Network Appliance is typically managed by an end-user but may support more than one concurrent user remotely via a Web browser interface. A Simple Server supports a small number of concurrent clients via a web browser interface or other protocol with a client application. Examples of simple servers are stand-alone network print servers, storage servers, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)11 servers, a “web camera” appliance that serves pictures via an embedded web server and a network time server appliance that solely functions to serve Network Time Protocol (NTP) requests. Advanced Server - End Nodes with one or more server-side applications (for example Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, Domain Name Server, NTP, E-mail, File Transfer Protocol, Hypertext Transfer Protocol , web server, storage server or database) to support clients in the network.

· Intermediate Nodes – routers, switches, IA or IA-enabled devices.

· IPV6 Capable Software - a product that implements functions available via an IPv6 interface to end-users, network nodes or other software, when installed on an appropriate hardware platform.

10.2. Energy Star

The Contractor shall describe the details for a 3-year onsite extended warranty and provide pricing as indicated in RFQ Attachment.

Details should include and/or describe:

How manufacturer warranties on given components are integrated into the maintenance and service alternatives offered by your firm. Include:

Clarification of what constitutes customer abuse, normal wear and tear, and acts of God. A method of returning faulty equipment to vendor(s) and return of repaired items to 645th. Include related costs.

Level of training 645th personnel will need to be accepted as "qualified technical assistants", if this option is included in your warranty program.

Length of warranty period and specific coverage to be provided.

Troubleshooting. How your maintenance and service programs address troubleshooting situations that involve other entities 645th personnel, component manufacturers, etc.

10.11. Customer Support

The prime contractor shall provide telephone, or in-person, support, as desired by the customer, during the warranty period to assist in isolating, identifying, and repairing software and hardware failures or to act as liaison with the manufacturer in the event that the customer requires assistance in contacting or dealing with the manufacturer. 10.12. Product Maintenance

The contractor shall provide associated maintenance to include spares/parts, software, and emergency support, during the 3-year warranty period.

It is understood that most hardware devices now being used require little maintenance; however, it would seem prudent to perform certain annual periodic maintenance inspections (PMIs) and equipment adjustments as necessary. These PMIs would also include diagnostic checks beyond those typically performed by onsite personnel. Additionally, service response time to correct component, system and/or network failures is of great concern to the Government.

The Contractor shall provide the details of a 3-year preventative maintenance plan option for all new equipment to preserve the validity of the extended warranty described above.
