About this file
This is a technical specification document detailing requirements for a CNC Plasma & Gas Metal Cutting System for Arnold Engineering Development Complex's Model Shop at Arnold Air Force Base, TN. The system must be new (no refurbished parts) and includes installation, start-up, and training requirements.
The specification calls for a cutting system with a minimum 12' x 20' range, featuring a beam assembly constructed from 12" x 12" steel tube, intelligent servo drive system with 600 IPM traverse speed, and plasma cutting capabilities for multiple materials (3" thick mild steel, 3" production pierce/6" severance for stainless steel and aluminum). The system requires a 15" HD LCD touch screen control panel running Windows 10, 8GB RAM, Intel i7 CPU, and dual 64GB SSDs. Key requirements include a down-draft ventilation system, water-filled worktable, emergency stops on all sides, and pivotal torches for various bevel cuts. The contract includes a 24-month warranty on most components (12 months for plasma torch/leads), 36-hour on-site service response time, and complete documentation. Installation and training must be performed by factory-trained technicians at Building 451 of Arnold AFB, with delivery terms FOB Arnold Air Force Base, TN 37389.
