Technical Specification Sheet

The Government requires a Portable, High-accuracy 3D Laser Tracking System meeting the requirements detailed in this document. Refurbished or remanufactured machine or parts are not authorized for this requirement.

Delivery is required to Arnold Air Force Base located in Tennessee. System installation, verification and training on-site at Arnold AFB is also required.

The brand name FARO Laser Tracker Vantage (with no Wi-Fi and no camera), Item 810-000093-030, is a known system capable of delivering the technical capabilities needed by the Government. However, any other brand name systems meeting the technical specifications outlined in this document will be considered a viable alternative to the brand name FARO system referenced above. As such, this is a brand name (or equal) requirement.

I. General Requirements

• Portable, high accuracy 3D laser tracking system

• Large volume contact measurement with ability to take high speed continuous measurement with targets.

II. Required Hardware Configuration, Capabilities and Computer/Software/Accuracy Specifications

Configuration:

• The Laser Tracker shall not have an external Master Control Unit (MCU)

• The Laser Tracker shall have a maximum radial measurement range of 35m (114.8ft)

• The Laser Tracker shall have a minimum measurement range of 0m (0ft)

• The Laser Tracker shall have the option for battery power, eliminating the need for continuous wall power, with a battery life of 8 hours continuous operation (2 batteries), hot-swappable.

• The Laser Tracker system shall have the following connectivity options:

o Ethernet: RJ45 port supporting GigE.

o Must be able to operate in non-Wi-Fi environments.

• The Laser Tracker shall utilize a Class 1 Laser

• The Laser Tracker shall have an Ingress Protection IP52 per IEC 60529 or better.

• The Laser Tracker shall have an LT Portable Folding Stand, Highly Stable and easily portable folding stand compatible with all FARO laser trackers. Includes heavy-duty shipping case and wheeled soft carry bag. Height 28.5” – 42” (0.7 – 1m), weight 29 (13kg) lbs. Maximum load 150 (68kg) lbs.

• The Laser Tracker shall have versatile mounting, allowing the unit to be mounted on a variety of stands in many configurations including vertically, horizontally, upside down, or even at an angle to fit in tight, confined areas.

• The Laser Tracker shall have continuous rotation of the Azimuth encoder for ease of use and eliminating end-stops.

• The Laser Tracker shall have the following physical, range and measurement envelope:

o Size: 240(W) x 416(H) mm [9.4(W) x 16.4(H) in] o Weight: 13.4kg (29.5lb) o Horizontal Rotational Envelope: 360° – Infinite rotation o Vertical Rotational Envelope: 130° (+77.9° to -52.1°) – Infinite rotation

Capabilities:

• The Laser Tracker shall have the ability to integrate with a CMM ScanArm to a single coordinate system with a Spherical Mirror Reflector (SMR) target mounted directly on the CMM ScanArm o This integration and process shall require no external tooling or fixtures outside of a high accuracy

SMR target mounted directly on the CMM arm.

• The Laser Tracker shall have a data output rate of at least 1,000 points per second, while providing feedback for high-speed motion control and high-density scanning

• The Laser Tracker shall have the ability to remotely power on/off and schedule warm-up to improve workflow by making the Vantage ready for immediate operation when the user begins measuring.

• The Laser Tracker shall have a quick compensation feature that optimizes measurements based on specific ranges to maintain high system accuracy.

Computer Specifications:

• The Laser Tracker system shall include a standalone PC for each Laser Tracker. Each standalone PC shall meet or exceed these specifications:

o Model: HP ZBook 17 G5 o Processor: Intel Core i7-8850H o RAM: 32 GB, DDR4-2666 MHz o Hard Drive: 256 GB SSD and 500GB 7200 RPM Optical Drive o Screen: 17.3” Wide Screen HD LED o Video: NVIDIA Quadro P3200 w/ 6GB GDDR5 o With Ethernet adapter, Wi-Fi (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5 o Windows 10 Professional 64-bit operating system o 3-year warranty

Software Specification:

• The Laser Tracker system must be able to use FARO’s CAM2 software. Quote shall include software license.

• The software package shall be installed and operate on the Windows 10 based PC outlined above and integrate seamlessly with the Laser Tracker.
