Statement of Work
For Varex 1515DXT‐I Radiographic Panel
Title: Purchase of the Varex 1515DXT‐I Radiographic Panel
Document Date: 4/14/22
This document covers the purchase, installation, service, warranty, training, and commissioning of a Varex 1515DXT‐I Radiographic Panel for use at the Air Force Institute of Technology.
1. Scope The Contractor shall provide non‐personal services of shipping of the Varex 1515DXT‐I Radiographic Panel and ordered accessories.
1.1 Background:
The Varex 1515DXT‐I Radiographic Panel is requested to establish a means at AFIT to quantitatively evaluate imaging performance of novel material arrays and novel array fabrication methods. This device must operate using an amorphous silicon thin film transistor (TFT) gated set‐up to ensure minimal system noise and light detection precision. It must also allow user access to the aSi layer and support the attachment of a custom outer aluminum light‐tight enclosure, which will house plastic scintillator arrays of up to an inch in height. Only by enabling user access to this usually environmentally sealed region of the detector will AFIT users be capable of pressure‐coupling the novel scintillators directly to the TFT array, thereby enabling measurements of emitted light on a per TFT pixel basis. TFT pixel sizes must not exceed 127 μm2, and the system must include a software package for digital measurement/image readout, thereby enabling post processing.
2. Applicable Documents:
Mininum Requirements:
1. Fully enclosed radiographic panel with removable outer carbon fiber layer
2. Active area must be larger than 14x14 cm
3. Amorphous silicon TFT digital measurement system
4. Pixel pitches equal or < 127 μm2
5. Must include a software package for image readout
6. Photon energy range must exceed a 200kVp
7. Must support frame rates > 25 fps
8. Power requirement: 100‐240VAC
3. Requirements/Salient Characteristics:
This is a non‐personnel services SOW to provide the Varex 1515DXT‐I Radiographic Panel. The Government shall not exercise any supervision or control over the contract service providers performing the services herein. Such contract service providers shall be accountable solely to the Contractor who, in turn, is responsible to the Government.
4. Delivery, Installation, Warranty and Training:
Delivery will occur via shipping, and there is no installation or training requirements associated with this purchase.
The purchase of the Varex 1515DXT‐I Radiographic Panel will include the Varex standard warranty, covering all new serialized equipment for 18 months from the date of delivery to the common carrier. Equipment will conform to specifications and be free from defects in material and workmanship. Includes technical support, replacement parts and repair labor.
