to prevent dislodgement during rigorous movement.

4.1.11 Hopper shall be positioned so as not to interfere with use of the launcher’s sights.

4.1.12 Hopper shall be gravity fed with no mechanical parts inside.

4.1.13 Hopper shall not require the use of batteries, nor incorporate electronic controls.

4.1.14 Hopper shall have a minimum capacity of 150 projectiles.

4.1.15 The feed neck shall slide rear and aft on a rail to provide quick access to the breach. The feed neck shall positively lock in both the rear and aft position and require manipulation of only one lever to accomplish this movement. Once the lever is disengaged, the feed neck shall slide smoothly between the two positions. The area where the feed neck and rail meet shall be sufficiently machined so there is no excess rattle or movement when device is being transported or carried.

4.1.16 Launcher shall have white front sight post.

4.1.17 Launcher shall have fixed rear sight affixed to a 1913 Picatinny rail.

5. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

5.1. Rate of Fire: Capable of launching a minimum of 6 rounds per second. This evaluation will be conducted using the Competition Electronics Pocket Pro II electronic shot timer and supplied launcher. With the shot timer placed in close proximity of the weapon (6 – 12 inches), the weapon operator will launch 6 projectiles. The timer will start upon the launching of the first projectile and end at the launching of the last projectile. This test will be conducted 4 times for each test package. The device must launch 6 projectiles per second or better for 3 of the 4 tests, and 4 projectiles or better for the forth test to pass.

5.2. Muzzle Velocity: must produce a consistent muzzle velocity of 280-320 feet per second with the specified projectiles in section 4.2. and HPA specified in section 4.3. This evaluation will be conducted using the supplied weapon system with an HPA bottle, an Oehler 35P chronograph, and a fixed launching position. The distance between the muzzle and the chronograph will be 24 inches (±2”). All projectiles will be launched with an HPA bottle pressure of 2400 – 2800psi. The weapon operator will launch 100 inert rounds through the chronograph’s detection area. To pass, 95% of projectiles must have a minimum velocity of at least 280 feet per second (up to 5% may be below this), but no projectiles may exceed 330 feet per second.

5.3. Accuracy: must maintain accuracy to produce no greater than 9 inch group at 30 feet from target, using projectiles that meet specifications in section 4.2. This evaluation will be conducted using standard targets, the supplied device, and a fixed launching position. The weapon operator will launch 3 series of 5 projectile groups for each projectile type.

Measurements shall be taken after each group is completed, using a 9 inch circular template. All shots will be measured at the center point of the impact and must be within the template’s coverage area, and all groups must meet the accuracy specifications above to pass.

5.4. Full Capacity Operation: This evaluation will be conducted using the supplied device and supplied projectiles. The device’s hopper will be loaded with 150 inert projectiles. The device operator will shoulder the launcher with the launcher parallel to the ground and launch 15 sets of 10 projectiles at a rate of 1 projectile per second. To pass, the launcher must launch 150 projectiles with no more than a total of 20 malfunctions and no more than 2 malfunctions per string of 10.
