STATEMENT OF WORK

DESCRIPTION/WORK STATEMENT/SPECIFICATION

FOR

COBOT WELDING PACKAGE

1.0 PURPOSE:

This specification establishes a requirement for the design and delivery of one (1) Cobot Welding Package which will be used in Anniston Army Depot’s Welding Facility building 458 to weld steel plates using a collaborative welding robot arm.

2.0 Cobot: Also known as a collaborative robot. A collaborative robot is defined as a robot designed for direct interaction with a human within a defined collaborative workspace.

Collaborative Workspace: A workspace within the safeguarded space where the robot and a human can perform tasks simultaneously during production operation.

3.0 REQUIREMENT:

3.1 Certification: The manufacture and/or designer of the Cobot Welding Package shall be Robotic Industries Association (RIA) Certified as a part of the Robot Integrator Program. The manufacture shall provide evidence that they have completed the Robot Integrator Program within the last 2 years. The manufacture shall declare that the robot is suitable for integration as a collaborative robot, with a reference to R15.06-2012 Part 2 5.11 that identifies the requirements met and type of operations.

3.2 Cobot Welding Package: The vendor shall provide one (1) Cobot Welding Package that will include one (1) each Universal Robot model UR10e Collaborative Robot (“Cobot”), one (1) each Miller Invision model 450MPa – Metal Inert Gas (MIG) Welding Power Supply or equal, one (1) each Air or water cooled welding torch, one (1) each weld control software package, one (1) electrically isolating baseplate, and one (1) mobile modular table. Electronic communication to and from the unit via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth capabilities is not allowed. The interface with the unit shall be directly connected to the unit. A parts list, maintenance manual, and operator’s manual shall be provided upon delivery. Installation at Anniston Army Depot is not required. A demonstration of the unit capabilities on-site is expected.

3.3 Safety Functions: The manufacture must provide evidence that the Cobot Welding Package is in compliance with EN ISO 10218-1 and EN ISO 13857-1, Cat. 3.

3.4 Cobot: The Cobot shall be a Universal Robot UR10e with a 22lb wrist payload, six-axis servo controlled, 51” reach measured from base axis to wrist flange, single-phase 110 volts alternating current (VAC), and embedded collaborative safety allowing the Cobot to work safely alongside human operators.

3.5 Welding Power Supply: The welding power supply shall be a Miller Invision 450MPa – MIG Welding Power Supply or equal with dual-purpose, Pulsed MIG waveforms, CV MIG, Miller 20 Series Digital Wire feeder adapted for Cobot use, three-phase 460V (volts), and 100% duty cycle 450A (amps) at 36.5 volts direct current (VDC).

3.6 Welding Torch: The welding torch can be supplied as either air or water cooled. The torch must include all mounting and operational hardware needed to operate with the Cobot to include hoses, cables, and clamps.

3.7 Programming: A minimum of two programming or teach methods shall be included in the control pendent. All pendent controlled programming features shall be application based. Operational parameter selections shall be made via drop down menus within the application. One method of programming shall be through manual manipulation of the end of arm tool through an application feature of the software. A “free drive mode” could be a way of describing the feature. The software shall be capable of automatically repeating any motion or location produced through manual manipulation of the end of arm tool. The force required to manipulate the end of arm in “free drive mode” tool shall not exceed 10 pounds of force in any direction or any movement. The second method shall be through on screen control pendent commands. The end of arm tool shall be capable of manipulation of any joint in any position by using the touch screen selection. The software shall be capable of automatically repeating any movement programmed or taught using the touch screen selection. Within the software, an application shall be included to establish the welding parameters. The welding parameters shall include but are not limited to:

wire feed speed, weave length, weave width, dwell parameter, wire size, and voltage.

3.8 Mobile Modular Table: One each Rhino Cart Kit PN TDQ54830-K1 and TDK5100 or equivalent shall be provided.

3.9 Miscellaneous: A protective covering for the wrist and upper arm of the Cobot shall be provided. The Cobot shall be provided with all hardware needed for electrical isolation. All mounting hardware shall be included. Wire and hose management brackets shall be included. Lifetime Technical Support shall be provided.

3.10 Supporting Information: This scope of work shall be limited to one (1) Cobot Welding Package. The design, fabrication, and delivery shall not to exceed a delivery time of six (6) weeks.

The integrator shall provide the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment for the collaborative operation as described in ISO 10218-2:2011, 4.3.

3.11 Supporting Documentation: The vendor shall supply four (4) printed and one (1) electronic copies of maintenance and operational manuals.

3.12 Equivalent Substitutions: In the case of substitutions for equal parts/components the contractor shall provide documentation and demonstration showing that component(s) meet or exceed performance specification and parts interchange ability of specified welding equipment and/or component parts.

4.0 WARRANTY:

The Cobot Welding Package shall carry a one (1) year warranty on parts and labor covered by the vendor beginning after acceptance at Anniston Army Depot.

5.0 DELIVERY AND POINTS OF CONTACT (POC)

Delivery is expected within 6 weeks of contract award. The Cobot Welding Package shall be delivered to building 458.
