About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the purchase of abrasive blast grit for Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS) blasting operations. The contractor must supply 104 super sacks of 80 Mesh Garnet Abrasive Blast grit, each containing 2,200 pounds, meeting MIL-A 22262 or equivalent specification. The total quantity represents approximately 228,800 pounds of material to be delivered over a one-year period beginning upon contract award.
Deliveries must be staggered in minimum quantities of 8 super sacks (17,600 pounds) per delivery, with an estimated 13 total deliveries. Regular usage is projected at one delivery per week, potentially increasing to two deliveries weekly during peak operations, with possible gaps of one to two weeks or longer between orders. A notional schedule indicates 16 sacks in Week 1, 16 sacks in Week 2, and 8 sacks weekly from Weeks 3-11. All deliveries must be coordinated and confirmed with the Project Material Manager (Michelle Bellino), Project POC (Adam Ouellette), and Contract Specialist (Robert Dowdle) with approximately five business days' notice. Morning deliveries to Building 337 are requested. The contractor must provide flexibility to cancel, reschedule, or accelerate deliveries as needed, along with information regarding cancellation fees, hours of operation, delivery turnaround times, and blackout dates. Security requirements include drivers carrying two valid forms of identification, trucks free of drips and leaks, and compliance with military installation prohibitions on weapons and illegal items.
