The requiring organization is DDDC, which seeks to replace an outdated, maintenance-intensive saw that lacks required OSHA safety equipment. The contractor shall provide all necessary labor and materials to fabricate, deliver, and install the new saw, including transportation and shipping. The equipment must be new from current manufacturer production and comply with all OSHA, federal, state, and local codes and regulations. Key specifications include 480-volt, 3-phase, 60-cycle electrical operation; a 20 HP belt-driven spindle with automatic dead man brake; a 3 HP feed drive motor with AC inverter for variable feed speeds of 70-200 FPM; 56 inches of throat capacity; and 30 inches of table support to the left of the blade. Additional required features include precision spindle components, electro-pneumatic feed chain lubrication, NEMA Type 12 operator control panel, heavy-duty pressure systems, comprehensive infeed safety features, one 18-inch diameter carbide-tipped saw blade, and an hour usage meter.

The contractor's responsibilities consist of three tasks: fabricating and delivering the rip saw; installing it at the specified location with coordination of site visits to verify electrical and ventilation connections, with final electrical connections made by site electricians; and providing eight hours of operator training on safe operation. The contractor shall provide one complete set of operator, parts, and service manuals with delivery. Manufacturer's standard warranty coverage is required but must be no less than one year parts and labor. Final acceptance will be performed by personnel at the receiving location.
