About this file
This is a Statement of Work for fumigation services issued by the USDA Agricultural Research Service San Joaquin Valley Agricultural Sciences Center located in Parlier, California. The center seeks to hire a reputable fumigation contractor to treat approximately 4.5 acres across two plots designated for a grape breeding program. The facility has experienced soil degradation after 20 years of continuous planting in the same soil, resulting in nematode infestation and compromised plant health.
The contractor must provide all Telone fumigant and related application materials, with the center responsible only for soil preparation per the contractor's recommendations. The work requires injection using the Tarped Shank Application Method with narrow, knife-type shanks equipped with delivery tubes, immediately followed by plastic or film covering to contain the fumigant. Treatment targets nematode populations, harmful insects, phylloxera, weeds, bacteria, fungi, and diseases. The contractor will confirm the exact acreage during an on-site walk-through following contract award. The period of performance spans April 2026 through May 2026, with performance taking place at USDA-ARS-SJVSRC, 9611 S Riverbend Ave, Parlier, CA 93648. No government-furnished property, delivery requirements, or security requirements apply to this contract.
