About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details window treatment upgrades for the USDA Agricultural Research Service's National Center of Agricultural Utilization Research (NCAUR) in Peoria, Illinois. The project requires replacing existing vertical blinds with new roller shade window treatment systems in multiple laboratory and office rooms in the North Wing. Specific requirements include installing Alta/Hunter Douglas roller shades with R80 1% E Screen fabric in white/pearl color, using a clutch-operated control system with spring assist, and a 4" silver fascia. The project covers 14 rooms with 24 windows, including 4 optional bid item windows, and mandates a 5-year parts and labor warranty from the installer and a lifetime limited warranty from the manufacturer.
The SOW specifies that the contractor must perform work in compliance with OSHA safety regulations, coordinate access with the facility point of contact, provide project schedule notification 5 working days in advance, and be responsible for demolition, disposal of existing treatments, surface preparation, and final cleaning. Additional requirements include verifying window dimensions before submission, coordinating any necessary furniture moving, and following the NCAUR Temporary Credentialing Program for site access. The project is scheduled for 2025 and is being managed by Steven Cermak from the USDA-ARS-MWA-NCAUR.
