About this file

This document is a Statement of Work for steel shotblasting for bridge decks. The work involves furnishing a machine to clean and profile concrete deck surfaces for the application of an epoxy overlay by Department personnel. The required equipment includes a gasoline, diesel, propane, or electric-powered shotblasting machine, power source for electric units, brooms, shovels, and spare parts. The only allowed consumable material is steel shot. The work includes cleanup to ensure no steel media remains on the bridge deck, mechanical grinding along the gutter lines, and a minimum production rate of 350 square feet per hour. Visual inspection of the prepared bridge deck should result in a surface profile between 5 and 7. After initial shotblasting, a brush blast may be required on the following day before the epoxy overlay is placed. Traffic control will be provided by the Department.

Payment will be based on the square foot cost, which includes mobilization and standby time. Vendors must submit a Confirmation of Services Form (OS-501) within 48 hours of completing the work. No additional details are provided regarding pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding, or other salient information.
