Scope of work (SOW): Tree Removal at the Nashua National Fish Hatchery

Nashua NFH is a 38-acre Fish production facility that sits in Nashua NH close to the Massachusetts border. This is the 7th oldest National Fish Hatchery in the Nation. The facility has large stands of white pine that have been untouched since the hatchery was built. Some of these trees currently pose a threat to the buildings on site.

Nashua NFH is in need of removing 15-20 white pine trees from the property.

These trees are in two separate clusters with 5 trees coming in one cluster and the rest are together in another cluster. Both sets of trees are close to hatchery office and shop buildings. The trees pose a threat to the buildings especially oversized branches that can snap in heavy snow loads or high winds.

Purpose: The purpose of this job is to remove the trees so there is no imminent threat to the facility infrastructure. The two buildings are the hatchery office and the maintenance shop which also has an employee office. This poses a critical health and safety threat to employees on station that work in these buildings.

Nashua NFH would like to have the trees cut down and the debris chipped and removed from the area. The hatchery does have space on the property to dump the wood chips if the company hired wishes to do so or they can be hauled away.
