About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details a refrigeration system upgrade project for the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) at the Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC) located in Sandy Hook, NJ. The project involves retrofitting four Sure Temp Brand R22 Walk-In Refrigerators and one Walk-In Freezer, with key objectives including upgrading mechanical components, improving efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and extending operational lifespan.
The scope of work includes comprehensive tasks such as inspection and evaluation of existing mechanical components, full component replacement (including compressors, condenser fans, expansion valves, evaporator coils, and thermostatic controls), installation of an epoxy floor system, and refrigerant recovery/replacement from R22 to an environmentally compliant alternative like R-410A. The contractor is required to provide a detailed report of replaced components, calibration settings, and system performance, with a recommended project timeline of 120 days from contract award. The project must comply with numerous industry standards and codes, including the International Building Code, OSHA regulations, and various professional association guidelines, with a focus on safety, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
