Attachment 1 – Statement of Work

Project Title:

Forklift Repair for Chapman Research Farm in Chapman, Maine

Background/Scope of Work:

The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) operates a 60-acre research farm in a remote area of Chapman, Maine. This facility serves as the field trial site for the Potato Variety Development for the Eastern U.S. Breeding Program, which develops potato breeding clones considered USDA-ARS intellectual property and stored at the Chapman Research Farm.

To support harvest operations and manage the potato storage facility, ARS relies on a Toyota 7FBEU15 forklift. Due to its current inoperable condition, the forklift requires replacement of its motor. Reliable equipment is especially critical given the farm’s remote location, where alternative resources and support are limited.

This scope includes the repair and installation of a new motor for the Toyota 7FBEU15 forklift. Restoring this essential equipment will ensure efficient harvest and storage operations and safeguard USDA-ARS intellectual property maintained at the Chapman Research Farm.
