All replacement parts are included in the pricing; however, parts exceeding $1,000 require a separate request for quote. Service must be performed by an authorized Hitachi service engineer. Work will be performed at building 012 at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center. Billing shall be submitted annually through the invoice Processing Platform (ipp.gov). Service engineers must obtain a temporary visitor badge from the security guard in building 003 before proceeding to building 012. The period of performance is referenced in Contract Line Items.

Statement of Work (SOW) Service Agreement for Hitachi Electron Microscopes.
I. Introduction The Electron and Confocal Microscopy Unit (ECMU) is a microscopy facility managed by the Systematic Entomology Laboratory (SEL) located at the Beltsville Agriculture Research Center in Beltsville, Maryland. The ECMU is equipped with a broad range of sophisticated microscopes and provides ARS scientists, and their collaborators, access to state of the art microscopes and technical research expertise. Included in ECMU’s equipment is a Hitachi HT7700 Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) and a Hitachi SU7000 Scanning Electron Microscope.
II. Scope The contractor shall supply all labor, materials, tools, specialized instruments, transportation, safety items, shipping, expert technical support and supervision to perform preventive maintenance and repairs for the Hitachi HT7700 Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) and the Hitachi SU7000 Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to keep the instruments fully operational. The work will be done at the ECMU’s building (012) at the Beltsville Agricultural research Center (BARC), Beltsville, Md. 20705.
III. Objectives The contractor will inspect, repair, maintain and provide brand name, or equal, spare parts as needed for the instruments below:
• Hitachi Scanning Electron Microscope SU7000 UHR VP FESEM (serial no.7004-03)
• Hitachi Transmission Microscope TEM HT-7700 (serial no. 3102-04)
IV. Service Requirements Service must include unlimited on-site emergency service calls. Response to emergency service calls shall be within 48 hours. The response period shall be Monday -Friday (excluding holidays) within the hours of 8:00 AM -5:00 PM and be coordinated with the COR. One (1) preventative maintenance service call per year and brand name, or equal, parts shall also be included. All replacement parts are to be included in the total cost of the service. If a part exceeds $1,000 a separate request for quote will be required. The microscopes will be inspected to ensure they are performing up to company specifications along with their yearly preventative maintenance service calls. Service must be performed by an authorized service engineer.

VI. Invoice and Billing Contractor will bill USDA annually and submit invoices via the invoice Processing Platform (ipp.gov).
VII. Security Requirements The service engineer will receive a temporary visitor badge from the security guard in Bldg. 003 before proceeding to Bldg. 012 to perform service.
