The Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI) has a need for Medical Services for the Summer 2021 Trimester

Projected Period of Performance Base year August 14, 2021 to August 13, 2022 with four (4) renewable option years.

1. Scope of Services

The contractor will provide and address medical and emergency services to students, staff, and faculty. Due to the COVID pandemic, contractual services are needed to address COVID related symptoms, provide temperature readings, triage, and referrals. In addition, services will be provided in areas of prevention, intervention, and address health educational trainings.

2. Consultants Tasks and Responsibilities.

The principal tasks and responsibilities are:

A. Provide Medical Services on the SIPI Campus.

1. The contractor shall provide the medical personnel and medical equipment to provide medical services to students on SIPI campus.

2. The contractor shall provide preventative health educational training.

3. The contractor shall provide medical referrals for students when necessary.

4. The contractor shall provide medical expertise and triage to students and make appointments with students.

5. Works closely with the Director of Student Services on recordkeeping to ensure compliance and privacy of student records.

B. Services.

1. Services include health plans, screening of immunization records, vision screening, stereoacuity, hearing testing, medical evaluation and training, height-weight, puberty and hygiene.

2. Services include educational health trainings to students on diabetes, birth control, drug awareness, breast cancer awareness and exams, blood borne pathogen education, first aid/CPR training, medication awareness and COVID-19.

3. Services will include COVID-19 testing and screening, referrals, and vaccinations if available.

4. Services will include IEP evaluations for students with disabilities.

5. Services include set up of wellness and health policies, update state and federal health requirements in schools including COVID-19 and provide an annual health service report.

6. Maintains implementation of student health records.

3. Objectives

The goal of this effort is to increase Native American participation and success in higher education by ensuring students the opportunity to complete required courses in a timely and cost-effective manner for the federal government. This contract will ensure the improved access, retention, and success of Native American students in higher education during this time of the COVID pandemic.

4. Deliverables to SIPI

The following final deliverables is required on or before August 13, 2021:

o Report in digital form with the following information and supporting documentation, regarding the medical services provided to the SIPI Institution.

o Summary of all activities (submit weekly reports).

o Assessments of the number of health trainings, medical referrals, and number of students and staff seeking contractor services as walk-ins or by appointment.

Recommendation for additional medical services for students.

· Report in digital form with the following information and supporting documentation, regarding the services provided.

o Summary of medical services provided within a health service report.

- Assessments of the medical health plans, educational health trainings, and IEP’s provided to students.

- Student wellness and health policies

- Update on state and federal health requirements

5. Government Furnished Property

The designated point of contact for SIPI is Dr. Cecelia Cometsevah, Director of Student Services, 505-452- 6307. Email: Cecelia.Cometsevah@bie.edu. SIPI will accommodate the needs of the consultant by providing access to the necessary IT equipment, office space and furniture, triage room and other resources available to the Student Services Department.

6. Security

The consultant will ensure the highest level of data security, and privacy, and will utilize data solely for the purpose of completing the scope of work and validating the quality and accuracy of the completed work.

7. Place of Performance

The Nursing Contractor will be working with Dr. Cecelia Cometsevah. Project activities will occur primarily at the Academic Support Building, as deemed appropriate or necessary under COVID-19 pandemic conditions.

8. Qualifications of Expert Consultant

The contractor has sufficient professional knowledge, skill and experience in Nursing Management. The contractor will have to complete the federal background check as required.
