STATEMENT OF NEED
1. INTRODUCTION:
Emergency Care Textbook + MyLab BRADY + EMT Review Plus App, 14th Edition (or most current edition), authored by Daniel Limmer & Michael F. O’Keefe. This book and online content are required for the Air Force Aerospace Medical Service Apprentice (AMSA) course curriculum. Each student in the course will require a textbook and access to the online learning content in FY25.
2. BACKGROUND: The AMSA students are mandated by the course’s curriculum to train in and pass the EMT National Standards Certification. The purchase of these books and online content offers complete coverage of every competency statement with clarity in a concise format, which ensures students’ comprehension and encourages critical thinking. New cognitive and didactic material is presented, along with new skills and features, to create a robust and innovative EMT training solution. The Emergency Care Textbook + MyLab BRADY offers exceptional content and instructional resources, which meet the diverse needs of today’s educators and students. Application to Real-World EMS through evolving patient case studies in each chapter, the 14th Edition (or most current edition) gives students real-world context to apply the knowledge gained in the chapter, clarifying how the information is used to care for patients in the field, and pushing students to engage in critical thinking and discussion.
