About this file

This is a specifications attachment for a federal contract opportunity for a fully automated microbial identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing platform to be delivered to the United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS) in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The specifications require a Vitek 2 Compact PRO 15 system with minimum throughput capacity of 15 test cards processed simultaneously. The platform must perform fully automated microbial identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing for Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, yeast, and related organisms, with species-level identification capability. The system must utilize automated colorimetric, fluorometric, turbidimetric, or equivalent validated technology with automated incubation, reading, interpretation, and reporting functions. Required features include automated result interpretation with expert rules, integrated software with data storage and retrieval, LIS/HIS compatibility, barcode capability, printable and exportable reports, computer-based graphical user interface, QC organism support, and QC documentation capabilities. The equipment must be benchtop-sized and suitable for standard laboratory environments with a closed or minimized reagent handling system.

The deliverables include the main instrument, starter consumables and reagent kit, required software licenses, computer/workstation if required, installation and commissioning, comprehensive warranty, user and service manuals, operator training, remote and onsite technical support, preventive maintenance, standard accessories and cables, and calibration and validation documents where applicable. Spare parts must be available for a minimum of five years, and IQ/OQ documentation must be provided if applicable.
