About this file

This is a Requirements/Specification Document for the procurement of one high-resolution near-infrared camera by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Communications Technology Laboratory, Radio Frequency Technology Division. The camera is needed for inspection of semiconductor wafers during high-frequency RF probing and optical illumination at 1550 nm wavelengths.

The required camera must meet the following technical specifications: 2D area sensing with 2560 x 2048 pixel resolution or greater; 60 frames per second or greater at full resolution with 8-bit or higher pixel data; quantum efficiency exceeding 30% from 400 nm to 1600 nm wavelengths; 12-bit or greater analog-to-digital conversion with 8-bit and 12-bit readout options; 1-inch (16 mm diagonal) or smaller effective sensor area; firmware support for pixel region of interest, offset, binning, nonuniformity correction, and defective pixel correction; global shutter with exposure times from 25 microseconds to 2 seconds; software-selectable free-running or external TTL frame triggering; external light source triggering capability; TEC-cooled sensor with software-selectable temperature control; USB3 or GigE interface; C-mount lens attachment; metal camera body not exceeding 100x100x100 mm with ¼-20 mounting hole; included live image visualization software; and included DC power supply compatible with US AC wall voltage if required. Vendors must possess an active Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) and a current Unique Entity Identification Number (UEI) registered as active on SAM.gov at the time of award. Delivery must be completed no later than April 30, 2027, to NIST-Boulder, and on-site inspection and acceptance are expected within 7 business days. Base manufacturer warranty is acceptable, and no training, calibration, maintenance, installation, or special facility considerations are required.
