,100 Gallon Chemical De-Icing Trailer Specificaons
General: It is the intent of this specificaon to provide the latest technology and design for a self-contained Trailer type Runway An-Icer / De-Icer with automac material control and applicaon rate control. No agricultural sprayers, orchard sprayers or conversions of same will be accepted. Unit must be designed for Runway An-icing and De-Icing. The minimum capacity will be 1100 gallons and a 45-foot minimum spray swath.
Serial Number: The Trailer is to be manufactured by a registered trailer manufacture that has been assigned a World Manufacturer Idenfier number for the Naonal Highway Traffic Safety Administraon. The trailer must have a legal VIN number.
Parts Availability: All parts used in the construcon of equipment must be standard, in-stock parts that are in inventory and available for delivery within a 48-hour period.
Parts and Operaon Manual: The parts and service operaon manual must use ATA specificaon 101 For Ground Equipment Technical Data as a basis.
Emergency Support Availability: Names and home phone numbers of at least two people who may be called on a 24-hour basis for service problems must be listed in quote.
Overall dimensions: Overall dimensions will accommodate overland truck and oversea shipping pallets with minimal knockdown for transport or assembly at desnaon. The complete De-Icer must fit on one shipping pallet to keep shipping cost at a minimum. The overall width shall not exceed 96 inches.
Frame: The frame must be constructed of 2 inch by 6 inch structural tubing with 3/16” (7ga) wall thickness. Frame must have 4 cross member(s) 2 made of 2inch by 6 inch structural tubing 1/4 inch wall thickness.
Axles: The trailer must have a minimum of two axles rated for 8,000 pounds each. The axles must be Torflex type. No springs and shackles allowed.
Brakes: The trailer must be equipped with a 20,000-pound hydraulic brake actuator. There must be a solenoid valve in the brake system. The solenoid is to be actuated by the back-up light circuit to allow the trailer to back up without seng the brakes.
Tires: The re size shall be 235/85R G and have a load rang of 4,080 pounds each at 110 PSI.
Wheels: The wheel size shall be 16 X 6 with a load rang of 4,100 pounds each at 110 PSI.
Jack: Jack must be heavy-duty drop leg jack with a 10,000-pound rang.
Lighng: The trailer is to meet federal lighng requirements for the US and Canada. All lighng shall be L.E.D. type. There is to be an amber strobe light mounted on the rear head of the tank. There is to be an Red Led marker on the end of each boom.
Boom System: The boom rack will be constructed of 11 gauge steel tubing. Over all width of the rack, booms, nozzles, ect. Shall not exceed 94 inches. The booms shall be a bi-fold design. The booms will fold along side of the De-Icer.
Tank: The tank to be a stainless steel 1,100-gallon tank with 12ga head and shell. Skid to be made of stainless steel. Man way to be 16 inch with a 10-inch quick fill lid.
Pumping System: The unit must be equipped with a 3 inch centrifugal pump coupled directly to the engine. The sucon plumbing must be full three-inches. The control console staon must start and stop the engine and control the engine speed throtle. The pumping system will exclude computer controlled plumbing loops intended to by-pass de-Icer fluid to the product tank or product pump inlet.
There must be provisions to start and stop the engine from the control console.
Engine: The engine to be a Honda 13 Horse-Power with electric start and charging system.
Throtle to be controlled by the sprayer control system.
Spraying System: Unit must have three spray secons. The center secon contains 3 nozzles on the product feed line. The le and right booms contains 8 nozzles each on the product feed line. Nozzles located on these lines will be switched on and off by the rate control device.
Nozzle System: The three spray secons will have variable orifice, an-drip nozzles capable of allowing the unit to spray applicaon rates from 0.25 to 2.0 gallons per 1000 square feet and spray at speeds up to 50 mph. The nozzle will provide a nozzle droplet size and configuraon to minimize atomizaon and splash at 40 mph. Nozzle assemblies shall exclude check valves, selectable nozzles, quick-change nozzles, or mulple nozzle spray systems.
Loading System: The De-Icer shall have on load and off load valves located on the driver’s side.
Rate Control System: A microcomputer system will automacally maintain the applicaon rate.
The control system senses ground speed, spray width (number of lanes), and material flow rate. When a change in ground speed or spray width is detected the control system changes the unit engine speed and material flow rate to maintain a constant, pre-selected applicaon fate. The controller may not exceed 25 square inches in size.
Speed Sensor: The speed sensor must be GPS based. No magnec speed sensors or drag wheels accepted.
Finish: All mild steel surfaces of the frame, booms, and structural parts of unit will be cleaned, media blasted and Powder Coated for durability; safety yellow.
Warranty: All parts and workmanship are fully guaranteed for 12 months including labor. All parts are guaranteed for one year.
