About this file
This document contains specifications for a federal contract solicitation seeking two 30ft2 capacity double-decker growth chambers with LED lighting. The specifications require exterior dimensions not exceeding 104"W x 35"D x 78"H, interior dimensions not less than 74"W x 29.75"D x 65.25"H, electric power of 208V, provision for a remote outdoor air-cooled condenser located up to 50 feet away, a CFC-free refrigerant, two reach-in doors with magnetic locks each with a clear opening of 30"W x 54"H, two air shelves providing uniform upward airflow and at least 30ft2 of growth area and 31ft3 of shelf capacity per shelf. Additional requirements include a distance between shelves of at least 25", a reflective white interior finish, a minimum lighting intensity of 500 micromoles/m2/s with programmable and sensor-responsive LED broadband spectrum lighting over each growth area, temperature control between 4-45°C with alarms, a touchscreen interface, an automatic drain pan, and a two year warranty. The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number 12905B23Q0224 from the Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service seeking these growth chambers for a location in Salinas, California.
