Requirements / Specification Document

Use this document to detail the specifications/requirements for an item and/or ancillary services.

TITLE: Channel Sounder Robot

Requesting Laboratory / Division / Group:

Communications Technology Laboratory Radio Frequency Technology Division Radio Frequency Fields Group (672.02)

General Statement of Need:

A mobile robot is required that can safely transport high capacity payloads such as our newly designed channel sounder system and any future sensors that may be added. The robot platform is a vital component of our measurement system which enables the collection of mobile data rapidly in the field. Being the base of the mobile system, the robot reports precise position data to accompany our RF measurement data. Having a single robot that can perform measurements in both indoor and outdoor environments with the capability of carrying all sensors needed for such measurements will simplify the channel sounder platform and future-proof the unit for future applications. It will also provide redundancy for the older channel sounder systems and their corresponding robots.
