Text version
Heavy duty forced air recirculating oven with vertical air flow
Chamber 36" H x 36"W x 60"L
Voltage : 460/3/60
Power: 50KW
Temp: 1200 F
Temperature Uniformity: +/‐ 10F in work area 30" H x 30"W x 50" L between 400F and 1200F after thermal stabilization
SHELL ‐ Constructed with angle iron frame with heavy gauge steel facing all welded to form a rigid enclosure. The front faceplate is designed with a heavy gauge plate to withstand warping and distortion from the chamber heat. The roof plate and rear cover are bolted to the frame for easy service access. All exterior surfaces are finished in machinery gray enamel.
INSULATION ‐ Side and rear walls are insulated with a 6.5" multilayered combination of lightweight insulating firebrick hot face and mineral wool back up. The firebrick is dry fit for better thermal expansion and easy replacement. The roof insulation consists of ceramic fiber modules which are studded to the roof plate. The roof modules can span wide chambers without cracking or failure. The front vestibule consists of firebrick insulation for extra wear resistance around the chamber opening and the floor is insulated with hard brick to support heavy loads.
HEATING ELEMENTS ‐ Heavy gauge coiled wire mounted on ceramic tubes are located on the side walls, door and rear wall of the oven. The coil on rod design allows full radiation from the elements for faster heat response. The heating coils are designed to operate at less than 15 watts per square inch of radiating surface for maximum performance and element life. The coils are mounted individually for fast, easy repair and do not require replacing expensive heating panels or insulation.
FAN ‐ A stainless steel fan assembly is mounted through the roof. The fan is V‐belt driven by a heavy duty motor. The roof mount fan is centrally located above the liner to distribute the airflow uniformly throughout the chamber.
LINER ‐ A stainless steel liner isolates the fan and direct radiation of the heating coils from the work chamber. The liner directs the air flow down over the heating coils and upward through the work chamber in vertical pattern providing uniform temperature.
THERMOCOUPLE ‐ Two 14 gauge Type (K) thermocouple assemblies (one for controller and one for high limit controller) are mounted through the rear wall of the oven in the air stream between the oven liner and heating elements for rapid sensing of the chamber heat. Lead wires connect the thermocouples to the temperature controls.
TUS PORT ‐ A manually removable insulated plug is located through the roof of the oven to provide access for temperature uniformity survey (TUS) thermocouples.
SAT PORT ‐ A thermocouple port is located through the rear wall of the chamber within 3" of the primary thermocouple, for customer provided thermocouple, for system accuracy tests (SAT.)
DOOR – A manual counterweighted vertical lift door is operated by a hand crank and keeps the hot face surface away from the operator. The door is lined with a combination of firebrick, mineral wool and castable to provide a low outside shell temperature. The door assembly is comprised of a set of angle iron uprights attached to the front of the furnace, sprockets on top of the uprights, counterweight and chain.
The chain is connected to the door and rides over the sprockets to the counterweight. The hand crank is connected to an outer sprocket on top of the uprights which drives the entire assembly. Pins extending from both sides of the door ride in tapered guides attached to the uprights that force the door against the faceplate. The door is designed with a 3/4" gasketed perimeter with "T" handles and swing clamps to seal against the furnace faceplate.
DOOR SWITCH ‐ A micro‐switch automatically shuts off power to the air circulating fan and the heating elements when door is opened, eliminating any electric shock hazard or blast of hot air to oven operator.
POWER CONTROLS ‐ Mounted in a separate enclosure at the rear of the oven:
(1) SCR Power Supply.
(1) Magnetic contactor.
(1) Control transformer.
(1) Set of numbered power and control terminal blocks.
(1) Motor starter.
TEMPERATURE CONTROLS ‐ Mounted in a separate NEMA 1 panel located on the right side of the oven. The controls are facing forward for ease of operator adjustment and viewing:
(1) NANODAC 1/4 DIN digital Program Controller with 3.5" Display and 100 Programs with 25 Segments each and up to 3‐Pen digital Recording with Full View Software.
(1) Honeywell DC120 1/16 high limit controller with separate thermocouple and contactor for automatic furnace shut down in the event of a high temperature excursion.
(1) Set of switches, push buttons and pilot lights. All wires are color coded and numbered to allow circuits to be easily traced.
FUSIBLE DISCONNECT SWITCH ‐ Fusible disconnect switch wired and mounted on furnace required by OSHA if means of disconnecting power is not located nearby. (Fuses not included.)
IUID TAG – Item Unique Identification label.
