Statement of Work
Background:
The Lake City VA Medical Center has recently done a survey of the sanitary and storm sewer piping underground. During this survey it was discovered that there is an existing 4” pipe connected to manhole #1 (see attached drawing) with a recurring discharge of water at 160 degrees and a section of the discharge piping located outside building 74 (laundry) has a break in the bottom of the pipe between manhole #1 and manhole #2. This section of the sanitary sewer appears to be 10” clay piping and is approximately 75’ long with a manhole on each end.
Objective:
1st Phase (Re-Reroute 4” discharge pipe)- A qualified contractor must sawcut a section of asphalt (approximately 100 linear feet). The contractor then shall excavate near manhole #1 to expose the existing 4” pipe to provide and install a new fitting and remove the remaining pipe from the manhole. Contractor shall seal the manhole penetration and excavate a trench in the dirt approximate 160 linear feet toward the asphalt excavation area. Contractor will properly re-route the pipe from manhole #1 to manhole #3 which is approximately 240’ away. New cast iron piping shall be installed from manhole #1 to manhole #3 and terminate the piping in the manhole with proper tapping and seal the penetration. After inspection they will then backfill, grade, and repair the section of asphalt.
2nd Phase (Pipe Liner Repair) - A qualified contractor must Camera/inspect and provide cleaning procedures, Contractor shall investigate, assess, and repair any underground or surface voids caused by breakage. Contractor shall install approximate 80 linear feet of piping liner, test and re-camera/inspect the piping system from manhole #1 to manhole #2. Contractor to provide required documentation.
