3 | P a g e
The system shall also include a gas generator, sufficient to supply all necessary gases for full instrument operation; no compressed gas cylinders shall be required. The laboratory has in-house compressed air at >120 psi. Therefore, a compressor-less nitrogen generator is preferred. The system shall include an uninterruptable power supply (UPS) sufficient to power the instrument and allow for an orderly shutdown. The system shall include a power/boost transformer to boost line voltage of nominal 208V (supplied) to nominal 230V, if necessary.
The total number of required laboratory outlets, including voltage, amperage, and plug type for each shall be included in the quote.
Size Constraints
The instrument, including the LC, tandem HRMS, computer and all other quoted components
(excepting a power conditioner/UPS, rough pump, and gas generator) must fit onto a fixed bench space. The maximum installed instrument dimensions are: 120” long, 25” deep, and 70” high (to include any necessary clearance between the instrument and ceiling). Neither the ceiling nor the bench can be moved or altered in any way. The instrument may overhang on both front and rear of the bench but must otherwise sit as per manufacturer’s specifications. If any bid proposes an instrument whose dimensions are greater than the above, explicit written documentation must be provided permitting the overhang or the bid will be considered non-responsive. The instrument may not be installed in a rotated configuration solely to fit space constraints.
Software and Libraries
The operating system included with the system shall be:
• Windows 10 Professional 64-bit or newer; or
• If a non-Windows OS is specified, the documented EOL date must be included with the bid documentation, which shall be no less than 7 years from the date of acceptance.
Supplied software shall include an instrument control and data collection software package.
The instrument control software must support both data independent acquisition workflows
(DIA) and data dependent workflows (DDA). In addition to the instrument control software, software designed to support statistical analysis of multiple data sets (e.g., PCA) to correlate spectral data and user defined characteristics shall be included. This software must be able to identify spectral differences correlated with user defined information (e.g., sample class). In addition, software for library searching/matching of HRMS spectra shall be included with libraries covering, at minimum, veterinary drugs (antimicrobials), drugs of abuse (forensics), pharmaceutical compounds, and natural products. The library/libraries shall contain high-resolution MS/MS data in both positive and negative modes (where appropriate). The size of the library and the number of high-resolution MS/MS spectra contained therein shall be specified in the quote. In addition, the software shall allow for the creation of custom searchable libraries by the user. The system control software shall support both data dependent acquisition (DDA) and data independent acquisition (DIA) methods. All libraries and software must be quoted with a perpetual license.
Setup/installation and training:
Inside delivery and set-up of all purchased equipment, supplies, hardware, and software is required. The vendor shall provide software and firmware upgrades free of charge for a
4 | P a g e minimum of three years from the date of installation of the instrument. Software and firmware updates shall be applied to the instrument without the need for an internet connection.
The installation shall include a pre-installation site visit to validate site of installation, if recommended by the vendor.
An in-house training session by a qualified trainer, directly employed by the vendor, is required for the instrument upon installation. The training session will occur at the
Laboratory in New Jersey at the address shown below. The training session shall provide familiarization training for at least three staff members with the software, basic operation, set-up of user accounts, interpretation of data, other software capabilities, basic hardware maintenance, and troubleshooting. Travel/per diem fees for installation/training specialist shall be included. Further, in depth training
