About this file

This is a Statement of Work for the procurement of SMC thermo-chiller units by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Boulder facility.

NIST-Boulder requires SMC thermos-chiller units to support microfabrication tools in the Boulder Micro-Fabrication Facility (BMF), a Class 100 microelectronics fabrication facility. The contract involves four line items totaling 14 chiller units: CLIN 0001 requires 2 SMC HRSF024-AN-20 units (air-cooled, 2400 W cooling capacity, 7 L/min flow rate); CLIN 0002 requires 3 SMC HRSF024-AN-20 units with identical specifications; CLIN 0003 requires 3 SMC HRSF060-WN-20 units (water-cooled, 5900 W cooling capacity, 28 L/min flow rate); and CLIN 0004 requires 6 SMC HRSF060-WN-20 units with identical specifications. All units must be factory-new, drop-compatible with existing NIST equipment, operate with water circulation fluid, maintain temperature ranges of 5 to 40°C with ±0.1°C stability, operate on 208 V 60 Hz single phase power, and include a 1-year factory warranty. Delivery shall be F.O.B. Destination to NIST Boulder (325 Broadway, Building 81, room 1B100) with all items due within 6 months after receipt of order. Payment is 100% upon receipt, acceptance, and successful testing and demonstration that equipment meets manufacturer and Government specifications. The contractor must be licensed to sell SMC chillers. The Period of Performance is 6 months After Receipt of Order (ARO), with the Contracting Officer Representative being Peter Lowell.

Statement of Work BMF Thermo-Chillers

1. Background Information:

a. NIST-Boulder has a state-of-the-art research laboratory (the Katharine Blodgett Gebbie Building) to support the most sensitive research done at NIST. Included in this building is a Class 100 microelectronics fabrication facility, called the Boulder Micro-Fabrication Facility (BMF). The BMF has many microfabrication tools that require cooling water in order to operate. These tools are cooled using thermos-chillers. To allow for a stable of spare units, parts, and drop-in replacements, the BMF has standardized to SMC thermos-chillers to minimize tool down time and required inventory control. The BMF requires additional SMC thermos-chiller units in order to keep the facility operational.

2. Scope of Work:

a. Objectives:

i. The goal of this contract is to provide the Government with the required thermo-chillers and accessories necessary for facility operations.
