The SOW specifies the required tasks for the contractor to replace the failed Hitachi HVAC compressor, including installing new necessary components and topping off the R22 refrigerant. The SOW indicates the repair is critical due to the need to maintain temperature in the facility's greenhouse research area.
The related federal contract opportunity is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued by the USDA Agricultural Research Service Pacific West Area for the Air Handler Compressor Replacement-Repair project. Statement of Work (SOW) Project: Air Handler 4, A/C Compressor
Repair by Replacing
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Scope of Work: E m e r g e n c y ! Repair By replacing Hitachi M#4002SC-H R22
HVAC Compressor, and necessary components.
2.0 Background: TTFVRU has a Hitachi HVAC compressor that has failed, in
AHU (Air Handler Unit) #4. The AHU has one compressor! The repair is critical to building operations due to the fact the AHU cannot cool the building without an A/C Compressor. With anticipated outdoor temps in the upper 90’s we risk have interior building temps in the mid to upper eighties to low 90’s. These interior temps could cause the lose of research in our Greenhouse area. It is critical to research to have the compressor replaced ASAP.
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks: The contractor shall follow appropriate state and federal regulation for the replacement of Compressor in AHU 4. The compressor shall be installed with new necessary components to function efficiently. A top off R22 refrigerant maybe required after installation. Unit will be started and ran to insure correct operation. A crane is necessary to lift compressor to the Air Handler position.
