About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the acquisition of a service and maintenance agreement for Gilson systems used by the Analytical Chemistry Core (ACC) group at the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS).

The purpose of this requirement is to procure an annual service and maintenance agreement that covers all service repairs, software upgrades, and one preventative maintenance visit for the Gilson HPLC pump and quad channel systems used in NCATS research activities. The anticipated base period of performance is from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025, with three additional one-year option periods. The contractor must provide full service and preventative maintenance procedures as detailed in the SOW. NCATS will provide access to the facilities as necessary. The contract will be awarded on a non-competitive, brand-name basis to Gilson Inc.

STATEMENT OF WORK

(SOW)

GENERAL INFORMATION

Title of Project:

Acquisition of Service/Maintenance Agreement for Gilson Systems for the ACC group at NCATS

Project Purpose or Objectives:

The purpose of this requirement is to procure an annual Service/Maintenance agreement that covers all service repairs, software upgrades, and one Preventative Maintenance (PM) visit for all Gilson systems.

Background Information:

The mission of the NCATS is to apply the tools of small molecule screening and discovery to the development of chemical probe research tools, for use in the study of protein and cell functions, and biological processes relevant to physiology and disease. In our research, we need to assess the biological utility of small molecules prepared in our laboratory. This determination relies on the purity and correct identity of the compound of interest. Here at the NIH Chemical Genomics Center, we are engaged in various research activities, including, but not limited to, high-throughput screening, parallel synthesis, assay optimization, and bioconjugate preparation. The Gilson systems are an integral part of our purification instrumentation as these are both injectors and fraction collectors. When integrated into existing equipment, the systems draw the sample into the system. After the sample flows through the systems, this same piece of equipment collects the pure sample into individual test tubes. Most every experiment done in our lab requires a solvent for synthesis and purification, specifically HPLC purification where a high volume of fractions containing purified sample are produced.

This equipment to be maintained increases the current capacity of the lab by allowing more samples to be purified in a shorter period of time. The request is for a Full Service Agreement that covers all service repairs, software upgrades, and one Preventative Maintenance for one (1), 12-month base period. It will also include three (3) additional option years to be exercised after the base year contract expires.

Period of Performance:

The anticipated base period of performance is from 7/1/2024 – 6/30/2025

- Option Year 1 (7/1/2025 – 6/30/2026)

- Option Year 2 (7/1/2026 – 6/30/2027)

- Option Year 3 (7/1/2027 – 6/30/2028)

SCOPE OF WORK

General Requirements:

Independently and not as an agent of the Government, the Contractor shall furnish all the necessary services, qualified personnel, material, equipment, and facilities, not otherwise provided by the

Government as needed to perform the below:
