Beaumont Reserve Fleet
Contractor supplied Labor Supplies and Equipment, To Provide Alternate Generator Power to the Transit Warehouse
Statement of Work
1. INTRODUCTION:
1.1. The intent is to provide alternate generator power to the Transit Warehouse during power outages. By having a contractor install (at the Generator Transfer Switch, POLE #4) electrical conduit, weather head, associated hardware, 3 conductors of THHN copper wire, size 2/0 for 3 phase 480vac power connected to the Load Side of the Alternate Source (Generator) Switch and ground wire.
Install the BRF supplied Quad Wire from POLE #4 in the air (about 500 foot) to the Transit Warehouse Weather Head at POLE# 1. To remove 3 existing 7.2KV/480VAC transformers that are currently providing electrical power to the Transit Warehouse and dispose of in accordance to state and local laws. Also remove an unused 4” conduit and 400amp disconnect, leave on site for BRF responsibility.
2. ABSTRACT:
2.1. At Pole #1, one of the three transformers failed, presenting the problem of improper voltage supplied to the Transit Warehouse. In past weather events with no electrical power and warehouse not under alternate power source presented us with a challenge for entry. Using the BRF current electrical infrastructure and backup electrical generator, this is the best cost-efficient plan.
3. SCOPE OF WORK:
3.1. The contractor/vendor shall provide Labor, lifting equipment, manlift, pole hardware and tools required and install the following:
3.1.1. At Pole #1, Contractor is to remove and set aside an unused 4” conduit, and 400amp disconnect and set aside for the Beaumont Reserve Fleet.
Associated hardware can be left in place if unable to remove.
3.1.2. At Pole #1, Contractor is to remove the 3 transformers mounted on pole and dispose of in accordance to local and environmental laws. Associated hardware can be left in place if unable to remove.
3.1.3. To install Quad Plex overhead wire provided by Beaumont Reserve Fleet from Pole 1 to Pole 4 (see pictures). And to connect Quad wire to the wires of the service weather head for the Transit Warehouse and the service weather head for the Generator Switch. The overhead Quad wire connectors are to be rated for Aluminum/Copper (AL/CU) when connections are made to copper wire protruding from the service weather heads.
3.1.4. At Pole #4, Vender shall to supply riser conduit, weather head, associated conduit connectors, mounting brackets, 2/0 THHN copper wire (3 phase service) and ground conductor at POLE #4 to allow electrical service entrance into the generator switch.
3.1.5. Vendor should be ready and equipped with supplies for electrical connectors or mechanical fasteners incurred during upgrade.
