About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details the replacement of Air Handling Unit-2 (AHU-2) at the National Peanut Research Laboratory in Dawson, Georgia. The project requires removing the existing unit, which has passed its service life and experienced multiple component failures, and installing a direct replacement with identical performance specifications: 14,745 CFM with a 20HP 480v 3-phase VFD-rated motor.
The contractor must submit a proposed replacement unit for approval, remove and legally dispose of the old AHU-2, install the new unit, connect it to existing ductwork and water supply pipes, perform electrical connections, and conduct a factory startup system test. The project has a 120-day performance period, with work to be completed Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Safety requirements include submitting a Site Safety Specific Plan within 14 days of contract award, and all contractor employees must undergo a background check before receiving site access.
