About this file

This Statement of Objectives (SOO) outlines requirements for the Chugach National Forest's MV Nissman Repower project, with a period of performance through March 15, 2025. The primary objective is to replace and install two existing 250HP outboard motors on the MV Nissman vessel.

The contractor must provide and install two new 250HP Suzuki outboard motors (or equal) with specific requirements including 4-stroke engines, electric start with power trim/tilt, counter-rotating units, 30" shaft length, and compatibility with current Suzuki control systems. The vessel is currently located in Girdwood, AK, and the contractor is responsible for transporting it to their facility and later to Whittier, Alaska for sea trials. The SOO includes an optional trade-in for two used 2015 Suzuki 250HP outboards (with approximately 2000 hours, one running and one non-starting). Key deliverables include motor installation, providing 14 calendar days notice for sea trials, and coordinating the optional trade-in of the existing motors.
