Soda Hills Shrub Salient Features

Delivery Instructions:
Shrubs will be picked up by the Government or authorized non-government personnel and shall be ready for pick up packaged in bags and loaded into boxes no later than April 11th 2025 in a refrigerated site within 100 miles of the Pocatello Field Office.
Material Specifications:
a. Seedlings will consist of a mix of antelope bitter brush (Pursia tridentata) (approximately 25,000) and big sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata) (approximately 3,000) plants.
b. The seedlings to be used for this project shall be grown and packaged by the contractor. The contractor shall place packaged shrubs in boxes to transport to the planting site with the number of shrubs which can vary +/- 5 percent consistent in each box. The number of shrubs in each box and number of boxes will be used in calculating number of shrubs planted.
c. The seedling will be packed with moist dirt plugs on the roots to prevent the roots from drying out causing the death of the seedling.
d. Any seedlings damaged, killed or lost, while in the custody of the Contractor will not be purchased by the government.
e. Shrubs will be on average greater than 3” in height and in a reasonably healthy condition at the time of acceptance. Shrubs will be in dirt plugs, ready to be planted. Shrubs will be packaged in plastic bags and placed in boxes with consistent numbers of shrubs in each box so the total number of shrubs can be determined. Shrubs will be stored with moist dirt plugs on the root and in a cool environment prior to pick up.
